I'm trying to make an extension for google which allow me to control the volume of every tab separately. I've read about how to make an extension and, by far, I know that I must learn some HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. However I don't know how to make it work.

I think I need to use APIs for this. I tried to use the chrome.audio API but it only works on Chrome OS. This is the manifest.json I'm using:

{
   "name": "VolumeControl",
   "version": "1.0",
   "description": "Control the volume of every tab",
   "permissions": [
    "audio"
    ],
   "manifest_version": 2,
   "browser_action": {
      "default_popup": "popup.html",
      "default_title": "VolumeControl"
   }
}

And this is the popup.html:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
  <head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <title>VolumeControl</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <button>MUTE</button>
  </body>
</html>

I know they are very simple and I haven't done much but I got stuck. Do you know what should I do and how to do it? If you know a different way to approach it, I'll be grateful to hear it.

Thanks in advance!
